The Road Less Traveled
Anyone who has ever taken a risk, chased after a dream, or simply tried something new has been down The Road Less Traveled. It's a place shared by those climbing high mountains, writing a first novel, or maybe just improving their life. The title song of the CD is about such struggles, and reaching out for that dream.
On the Road Less Traveled CD, there are songs about true events (Emily and Pine Pond Place); songs Paul wrote during a trip to beautiful southern California (Seabird and Highway 101); songs about the human condition (Dotcom Diva and Old Moon); a love song (The Matter of a Heart); "hurtin'" songs (Hey, Cabbie and Walk Away), and there is even a song about a football game (Winner's Ring).
All songs on The Road Less Traveled CD were been composed, arranged, performed and mixed by Paul Ryan. The instruments that Paul used for recordings were all acoustic and include:
- 5-string banjo
- 6-string dreadnought and classical guitars
- 12-string guitar
- 6-string baritone guitar
- mandolin
- resonator guitar (slide and finger-style)
- dojo
- laud
- upright 4/4 bass

Many stations have been with us since way back in 2003 when Comeback was released, and we are always happy to add another program or station if the music fits your format. If you are from a radio station and would like to have The Road Less Traveled CD on hand, please email us at info@ryantunes.com, or call (416) 690-7741 and we'll send one along via regular mail.
Radio airplay is extremely important to Ryantunes, and since we began in 2003, we've worked to develop strong relationships with hundreds of DJ's and others in radio station management. Without radio airplay, any song no matter how great it might be, is just an electronic file, sitting there in a jewel case. And without radio airplay, a performer, no matter how fantastic, remains obscure.
As a service to radio stations using the CD, we currently send via email Did You Know information bullets from time to time. These are short, on-air friendly messages designed to provide little known but important vignettes about the history, personalities and background of Americana, bluegrass, folk, country and related musical genres. A typical report arrives every six-ten weeks, and is about 1-2 short paragraphs in length. These and can be useful for providing your listeners an interesting tidbit relative to music history that can be used on-air. If you are a DJ, and would like to receive this series, email us at info@ryantunes.com and we'll add you to the recipients list.
