Home Cooked Music

Like it’s predecessor (Comeback), Home Cooked Music is as much about the sounds of an earlier time as it is about the artist. Just as music of a bygone era once did, songs on the Home Cooked Music album tell stories. These range from a “miracle” in old Santa Fe, to real life situations we all might experience, from time to time.

All songs on the Home Cooked Music CD have been composed, arranged and performed by Paul Ryan. All instrumentation is acoustic. On the one hand acoustic instruments lend an authenticity to music, and were used by the great songwriter-performers of the past. On the other hand acoustic music just plain sounds nice.

A Note to Radio Stations

Did you know that Johnny Cash recorded over 1,500 songs, and today a whopping 45 albums remain in print?

As part of our website service, we currently send via an email a “Did You Know” bullet from time to time to on air folks at radio stations. The bullet is intended to provide country, Americana, folk and bluegrass DJ’s with an interesting tidbit that might be useful on-air for listeners. In most cases the email is a one paragraph bullet about an acoustic artist of days gone by. For example last year we sent out ten letters, covering a range of country music and related genre “builders” ranging from Leadbelly to Eddie Arnold.
