The Jay Telfer Forum
The University of Toronto Faculty of Music is constructing a brand-new state of the art music venue, the Jay Telfer Forum. The 229-seat facility will be an especially ideal venue for soloists and chamber music groups. It will feature top-notch acoustics, stunning views of Toronto, and technologically advanced infrastructure. The Forum will host live music performances as well as conferences and academic events, and will also enhance performance education at the Faculty of Music.

According to Ellie Hisama Dean of the Faculty of Music, “the Jay Telfer Forum will prepare students to perform in professional-quality venues, and assist our researchers to engage the public with their ground-breaking music research,” The Forum is the result of a $7 million gift from Jay’s brother Ian and Nancy Burke. “Nancy and I hope this gift will lift up the entire arts community in Toronto as it emerges from one of its most challenging eras.”
